In the 1980s many Ugandans used to travel mainly to Kenya and other parts of the world for medical laboratory diagnostic services. This was a big gap in the Health Services Sector. It was during this time that the proprietor conceived the idea to bring the service closer to the Ugandans at a more affordable cost. In 1991, the dream came to life with the inception of Ebenezer Ltd Clinical Laboratory and operations soon after. Since 1991, Ebenezer Ltd. Clinical Laboratory (ECL) has grown from strength to strength with the major goal of providing Quality Medical Laboratory services under an effective and efficient Quality Management System (QMS) compliant with the International Standard of Quality and Competence for Medical Laboratories, ISO 15189.
